I’ve heard not all lubricants are suitable for lock maintenance. Is this true?
Never use an oil, dry graphite or silicone lubricant. Oil attracts dust and both oil and excess graphite can interfere with the moving parts and mechanisms of padlocks. We recommend a dry lubricant such as TFE Dri Lubricant.
